COURSE STRUCTURE
This course has 6 teaching days over a 4 month period:
Day 1 – Anatomy & Physiology and theory
Day 2 – Tutor demonstration, practical on skins, practical on model
Day 3 – Trouble shooting, practice on model and written exam (multiple choice)
3 – weeks later – 3 case studies expected:
Day 4 – Assessment Day 1 – complete 1 x brow on a client
3 weeks later – 3 case studies :
Day 5 – Assessment Day 2 – complete 2 x brow on a clients
3 case studies to be submitted for sign off:
Day 6 – Assessment Day 3 – complete 1 x brow on a client and complete paperwork
MODELS YOU WILL REQUIRE
You will be required to provide 10 x models for your practice in class and case studies
You will be required to provide 4 x models for your assessment days
EXAM
Your exam will be multiple choice with a pass rate of 70% – you will get 3 attempts to pass your VTCT exam
Course content
You will develop your skills in a supervisory role focusing on health & safety within a salon environment. You will recognise hazards, carry out risk assessments and implement actions. You will learn about salon security and the need for insurance.
This unit prepares you for work and is based on capability and knowledge. You will learn about client care and communication in beauty-related industries and develop your ability to adapt the provision of client care, communication skill, adapt to the needs of different clients and well as learning to manage client expectations.
This unit prepares you to carry out a through consultation and prepare a treatment plan for each individual client, look at a skin analysis, explain skin ageing, conduct a patch test, enhance your knowledge on topical anaesthetic use, understand contraindication, modifications and contra-actions, colour theory, pigments, understand microblading techniques and tips, look at microblading equipment and products, eyebrow shaping, microblading procedures and the correct aftercare for your clients.
This unit will improve your knowledge on the various systems of the body required to ensure you have the correct training to understand the body pertaining to microblading techniques. You will complete an external exam to show your knowledge and understanding of the anatomy and physiology required in this qualification.
this unit prepares you to work in a professional and capable manner in carrying out a professional service to your client, learning all the aspects required to be confident and competent in this treatment.
